Yep @L00terMcGavin is right. Essentially, uninstall EA Play, then re-install Origin.
I then just clicked on the three dots for Apex and clicked Repair, and it looks like it downloaded some extra files. I haven't gone back to EA Play yet, simply as there's no games I want to get with the EA Play/Xbox Game Pass combo. But I imagine Repairing your Apex install then reinstalling EA Play instead of Origin should work.

Uninstalled EA destop and reinstall origin fix the problem rght away without having to DL again the game.
