Apex Legends PC crashes mid-game – Event Viewer error 0xC0000022

Hi everyone, I’m having a persistent issue with Apex Legends on PC, and I’m running out of ideas.
After playing for some time (usually mid game), my PC suddenly crashes. There’s no gradual FPS drop or overheating warning, it just crashes unexpectedly. What’s confusing is that my PC handles much heavier games that use a lot of GPU power and VRAM without any issues. Outside of Apex, my system works perfectly fine.
I checked Event Viewer and I consistently get this error when the crash happens:
Session "dc3a3596-71e1-45a3-b2ea-39ad5322fe51" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000022
No crashes in other demanding games. Temperatures and performance seem normal. The issue happens only with Apex Legends

I have the same problem and I have tried Apex through steam and EA, reinstalling the game, the launchers and windows. Uninstalling and installing all drivers via DDU, and tried to shut down all other services on my computer. I have upgraded, downgraded and maybe even sidegraded everything possible. I have disabled all overlays and run evertything as administrator, and not.

I have tried allmost every combination of the things above.

When I get the Kernel-EventTracing error: "Session "dc3a3596-71e1-45a3-b2ea-39ad5322fe51" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000022", It can happen between one and ten times before the crash, and when mulitple Errors, it happens with exactly one minute interval, like: 18:09:01, 18:08:01, 18:07:01, 18:06:01, so it seems that there is some service that is trying to do something, and trying again after a minute.

Easy AntiCheat is my main suspect, or perhaps Windows.

Yes I have done the exact same things. On reddit I found that disabling steam overlay and disabling G-Sync might fix it. I did that and it worked for 2 or 3 days, but it went back to crashing and same errors. Reinstalled the gpu drivers (geforce and every nvidia app) and still on the same loop.

My suspects for me also are Easy AntiCheat and Windows. Idk if I should go back to Win10

  • I have recently encountered the same issue. All of the sudden the game started to crash on ranked and public loading screen. Wildcard was alright. Once it did load okay, second time it did not. I have read numerous topics on this. It all started when my old GPU died and I got a new one from Intel, so thought this was a GPU or driver issue. It turned out it was not. It seems to be a problem on Kernel level Windows x EOS.

I do not fully understand this and what causes the crash, but it seems that when EOS tries to "book" a security relation, it conflicts with some Windows security relation it just shuts the game down and gives integrity error 0x8000001 in Windows event viewer 0xC0000022.

Based on all of the articles and other users error topics, I went and uninstalled the Intel graphics software, uninstalled the Armoury crate. Set the Steam to run as admin as well as stopped using the game launcher on desktop and started using the "r5apex_dx12" from the game folder run as admin too. Allowed all the apps (steam, launchers, all the EOS launchers I could possibly find in Windows folders) in the firewall in my Avast antivirus software.

Disabled "Delivery Optimization" this background Windows feature seems to use the same system Tracing Sessions as EAC. If they conflict over the session ID, Apex crashes
    a) Go to Settings -> Windows Update -> Advanced options
    b) Find Delivery Optimization and turn off Allow downloads from other PCs.

As the last resort I have tried flushing the DNS and IP - Command Prompt (cmd) run as admin

    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /registerdns
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    netsh int ip reset

    and restart the PC.

Possibly this could be a coincidence that past two days my game did not crash once, or some of this fixed the issue. It worths nothing( only few minutes of your time) trying this. I truly hope that some of this really did fix the issue and that it will not come back and haunt me... from what I understand this issue occured even on fresh install of all Apex, Windows and EOS, so complete wipe out solves nothing.

So did this actually fix it? Or did the issue come back?
