Apex freezes whole PC randomly

Edit: Found a fix for my case.

Fixed my issue, apparently it's caused by MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner Statistics Server (RTSS), unsure why this issue is caused, only in Apex, but yeah
I am not doing any overclocking settings, I just like to run RTSS on all games to monitor performance but for some reason Apex just started not being into that

Try fully closing MSI Afterburner and RTSS if you have them and see if your issue is fixed.

Product:
 Apex Legends
Platform: PC
Please specify your platform model: PC
AMD or Nvidia Model Number: NVIDIA RTX 4060
Enter RAM memory size in GB: 32 GB
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? Kiranuu
Which Legend were you playing (if applicable)? Wattson, Ash, Any Legend
Which Legends were your squad mates using (if applicable)? Any.
Where did the issue occur? Main Menu screen, in lobby, in firing range, in Solos, Quads, Trios, Ranked.
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu: Multiple locations of multiple maps
What were you doing when the issue occurred? The issue is freezing and it happens at random times, just rotating throughout the map, or mid-fights, or while looting, even when diving from drop-ship or in lobby or even in main menu, I should also note that sometimes I have Apex open in the main menu in the background and the full PC freezes too from time to time, a 1-5 second freeze basically.
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? No
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? 1
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 03/07/2024 4:52AM GMT+3, Firing Range, another time about 5:07AM GMT+3 same day, also in firing range.
How often does the bug occur? somewhat random, in some matches it happens once, in some matches it happens 5+ times
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay, especially when it's during fights.
What happens when the bug occurs? Full PC is frozen, I cannot tab out or do anything or even move my mouse, the freeze continues for about 1-5 seconds, it's random, then everything is unfrozen and I get a bunch of connection error icons on the top right of my screen, mainly has been the "UCMD Delay"/Input Lag one, after the unfreeze I can move around and look around fine but the game doesn't register anything I do until about 5 seconds later, causing me to teleport around often, I attached a screenshot of the icon I get
What should be happening instead? Freezes shouldn't be happening.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? The issue happens at random and I can't seem to find a way to replicate it

This issue has started happening about 1 to 1 and a half weeks ago and I can't seem to find a solution, also can't find other posts with the same issue, for many it's people having their game freeze in a sense that the game is running fine but they and other players are all stuck in place for a second, as a network freeze rather than a software/system freeze

I have updated my GPU driver to the latest version, tried doing a driver uninstall with DDU to clean up all old driver files before installing new one too, verified game files, excluded Apex Legends from Windows Defender, enabled "Dynamic Spot Shadows", changed game settings to all low or all high and played around with them a bunch, set an FPS cap to below 165, turned off MSI AfterBurner and RTSS, disabled NVIDIA Overlay, Discord Overlay, Steam Overlay...etc, Siwtched from DX11 to DX12 with launch options, Reinstalled full game, installed EA App version instead of Steam, all same issues.
I should note that I played with the EA App version quite a bit with no issues for almost half a day, then minor freezes began happening, where the game would freeze for like 0.5 seconds then it's fine, but after some time it's the same 5 second freezes, followed by the game not registering anything I do for another 3 seconds or so.
All of these are solutions I found on Reddit for similar freezing problems, none of them worked but to be fair none of the posts had my exact problem
If there's a solution to this, I'd love to see it because this is honestly making the game unplayable mid-fights.

  • Recent update on the issue, the issue still persists, much more common for freezes to happen during fights or when near squads so I'm not sure if that's the cause, but in addition to the freezes, I now sometimes hear a tiny beep sound from time to time at one of the freezes at random, still unsure what the sound is from but I should point out it plays in the headset, not the motherboard or PC Case itself
