APEX LEGENDS 100% CPU | LAG/STUTTER

High or maxed out CPU usage (100%), happened from nowhere. I was playing and I started to notice that I had lag the first day, so I quit playing. The second day I started playing without any issues, about 1hr in I started noticing the same problem as the first day. My frames were still as they should be (around 120-144fps) but all registration in the game was extremely off. If I shot someone it would register half a second later, If I'd grapple with Pathfinder the grapple would stutter once or twice and it connects weird and delayed. Same with jumping, sometime's I get half the jumping height, it's really weird and it's really hard to describe.

Then I noticed in task manager that my CPU was working 100% with Apex being the problem (the same with Origin).

I see posts, videos and other forums talk about this everywhere but very few have the luck of fixing it, I'm still stuck with my favourit game being unplayable.

I've tried:

• Re-installing the game

• Down prioritizing the game for the CPU

• Tinkering with video-settings

Pls halp...

I might have come to a solution which is:

I updated drivers for my motherboard in BIOs and after that I reset the whole BIOs whith pressing the CMOS button on the motherboard and I have an ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO motherboard.

For now Apex runs smooth and as it should run without CPU being on 100% usage!

@Zeelmaekers I tried to do a clean boot, it helped quite a bit, game is running better, almost as it used to before the CPU usage went crazy. Still want some things turned on like nVidia. I'd say it's working like 90% as it should, thanks! It's better than nothing.

And I also use GPU Tweak II to close "unnecessary" programs that are running in the background, without using it I have HUGE input lag on mouse/crosshair/cursor in-game.

System is:

• GPU: GTX 1060 6GB ASUS ROG STRIX
• CPU: Intel i5-6600k | 3.50GHz (4CPUs) ~3.5GHz
• 16GB RAM
• Swapping File/Paging File: 7418 MB using, 14280 MB available (tried to translate whatever it is to english)
• DirectX 12

@Zeelmaekers The clean boot worked for 2 days, now it's unfortunately back to 100% CPU usage and the game is pretty much unplayable ☹️

I am using Gigabyte motherboard, what do you mean updating drivers for motherboard? My pc is fully updated through windows update. Should I update Bios too? Please help

@T0toro21What if I have 60hz in default and never changed it? It happened to me same as to @N🤭rg_topmodeLL N🤭rg, like a week ago out of sudden I started having ingame huge like spikes, checked ping as first thought but this was perfectly fine, then noticed 100%cpu/gpu usage..

@N🤭rg_topmodeLLBut how do you update motherboard via BIOs? I'm not a PC master unfortunately..
EDIT: update my BIOS to latest version, yet still CPU usage jumps up to 100%.. It must be something inside the game, only Apex does that, even GTA5 isn't using that much..

I am also experiencing this sudden increase in CPU usage to 100 starting from yesterday and I have done everything in this thread but to no avail it keeps coming back.
