Apex Legends: Assigning a new key to alternate interact

Greetings! I'm using PC for Apex Legends. I noticed that when I assign "Alternate Interact" to another Key on my Keyboard, it won't manifest as a doable button in-game. For example, I assign Alter...

You will see all the keybinds here you can edit these manually such as team mate thank etc.

I'm playing as Wattson and in the settings H is now bound to some character utility? Why wouldn't they explain this new binding? I have no idea what it does and also get the [\] icon. Opened up that .cfg file and don't see anything about thanking teammates

Try binding the thank you/warning teammates stuff to "open quip wheel" under communication on the keybind settings. Works for me.

@CrankiiSago That did it for me. Whatever you bind "open quip wheel" too will also be your thanks/welcome button.

"open quip wheel" in keyboard settings is probably the easiest way to fix this.
