Apex Legends Crash Fix
So as you guys know Apex Legends is crashing a lot for some players and its so annoying and frustrating ( max time in game for me was 20 mins. then boom it crashed), I searched a lot of sites and watched many youtube videos and nothing helped (waste of time).
I almost gave up and formatted my PC, but I contacted EA for help and finally we found a fix (for me at least I really hope it would help you guys too).
The thing that helped me was creating a new Windows admin account and launching the game from that acc( second thing that could help but I think it didn't was updating my graphic drivers and other drivers) . And somehow it worked, I played solid 1 hour and 30 + mins without a single crash. There, I hope the game will work for you guys and I hardly recommend that you ask EA for help and open your own case if this dosen't work. (sorry for bad English)
I will post some other thing you can try if the game still crashes (even tho I tried all of this and nothing helped but hey who knows it might help you):
1. Run CCleaner : http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-use-ccleaner-to-fix-pc-issues/
2. Restart your router/modem and do a Clean Boot : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135
3. Make sure that your UAC is enabled and set to notify (if you get option)
4. Download the latest version of Origin and install the client.
Hold down the Windows Key and press X.
Click Command Prompt (Admin).
When the command prompt opens, type ipconfig/flushdns and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /registerdns and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
Do a clean uninstall and reinstall of your graphics drivers
1. If you are on version 417.71 and are seeing the error DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG, roll back to the previous driver.
2. Use the nVidia Perform Clean Install option and uncheck GeForce Experience. http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2900/kw/install/session/L3RpbWUvMTQxODI0ODI1NS9zaWQvKnJPZzFBOW0%3D
Go to C:\Users\%username%\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\localEdit the file videoconfig.txt, using Notepad to open.Change the line: "setting.stream_memory" to 0. See below:"setting.stream_memory" "0"
I would request you to please try removing the RAM and cleaning it then inserting it again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Here are the steps:
- asked * to clean RAM
1) Update the windows and graphic card drivers.
2) Clean boot the system and then play the game.
3) System file checker
-Open Command Prompt [win+x, then select Command prompt promt(admin)]
-Type sfc /scannow
-Hit enter
4) DISM
-Open Command Prompt [win+x, then select Command prompt promt(admin)]
-DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/947821/fix-windows-update-errors-by-using-the-dism-or-syste...)
5) Create a new admin account. (only thing that helped)
