For anyone still having the issue, try going into your sound icon on bottom right > righ click > Sound > Playback and disable any output device not in use (don't forget to right click show all disconnected / deactivated devices).
Haven't had any crash for a while with this method

Ok anecdotal, but I tried disabling my second monitor and so far so good. Will update if I crash again.
Playing in fullscreen mode, with origin overlay off.
i5 2500K OC'd @ 4.5GHz
R9 390 8GB
8GB RAM
Edit: Still crashed after launching from the ship about 6 games in ☹️

I was also able to fix the crashing by changing the .exe compatibility settings to launch in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode. Perhaps unrelated but I also had a Windows feature update pending to version 1809.
Have played for well over 10 games now with no crashes, was previously crashing once every 1-2 games.
System: i5 4690k, RX580, 16gb ram
