I used to have an engine error for the game, but used several fixes such as rolling back drivers and transferring it between SSD and Hard Drive, aswell as repairing the game.
Now Engine error doesn't pop up anymore, but instead another problem has popped up. I keep freezing and then crashing midgame, about 5 minutes or 10 minutes whilst playing Apex in the lobby or in the game. All of my drivers are up to date, and the specifications of my computer are good enough to run the game at all high, but I have moved back the settings all to the lowest possible.
I had the same problem (freeze of 10 seconds followed by crashs, never finished a game), and manage to fix it yesterday.
My setup is the following:
graphic card: Nvidia GTX 1070, driver 418.81
processor: Intel i7-7800k
ram: 16 Go
Downgrade driver didn't work, and other workaround like close discord, close origin's connections, etc... didn't work.
However, decrease the VRAM allowed to the game worked. From 8Go I set 4Gb and set all settings to mid instead of max and the game never freeze or crash by after.
I guess that the game detect 8Go on my card and try to fullfil this space, but there isn't enough FREE space, and so it must start to use RAM, and that will lead to huge freezes...
After this fix, 5 hours of play without crash 🙂
