Apex legends fps drops
First of all, awesome game and good mechanics.
I have a 1060 6gb oced and it still lags on Lowest settings possible . every one of my friends are facing the same issue and they all have gtx 1060 + line cards
- I dont think the fps drops can be solved in most cases.. Mostly 2 reasons:
1. Connectivity
2. Hardware
I'm running a 1050 ti btw i still get stutters and such but it doesnt affect my experience that much anyways..
1. Connectivity:
-Check packet loss in apex data center and calculate worst ping latency using iotrace (gamign in evening and weekend can cause more issues)
-Disable windows or other programs from automatic updating anything
2. Hardware:
-Set vram to half or ur gpu, 3gb for ur card
-Disable intel turboboost/intel speedstep if u have intel series
-Try driver 399.24 or 417.71 might improve
-If you only have 8gb of ram u need virtual memory from your drives (better to asign to ssd/nvme then slower hdd)
-There are ways to clean up virtual memory after restart of pc which might improve performance (causing windows to take a longer time to restart but thats ok)
-Find the proper timings for ur ram (for example cl9 ddr3 is default cl11 jedec standard in the bios and u manually have to set it to cl9)
-Try if disabling Shader cache in nvidia control panel helps
-Set nvidia physx to gpu instead of cpu or otherway around
-Do not overclock or use afterburner/oc tools/discord/overlay
-Disable windows defender to increase file time access
-before starting apex everytime do a ALT+F4 clean restart (because windows opens last used apps)
-Make a clean boot by disabling apps that are using too much from starting up (task manager/disable non-microsoft related services to start at windows start)
