Hello! I keep getting an error message in Apex Legends. Seemingly randomly while in game, my game will crash and I will get an error message somewhere along the lines of "the instruction at Dx3f57 e666 referenced memory at Dx010000019. The memory could not be read." It doesn't happen every game, but it has been happening more frequently as of late. I have a Nvidia 980ti, updated the game drivers to the most modern, repaired the game, and still am getting the error message. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I've spent an entire week troubleshooting this widespread crashing error, and I'm posting all the information I have in the exact detail suggested by the CMs. Thank you guys for trying your best, I understand that your job here is to gather feedback and offer assistance while Respawn works on this. I set the minimum value to 147,000 MB, and the maximum value of 220,000 MB.I have tested disabling the "Windows Error Reporting" process.I have tried +fps_max 0, +fps_max 75, +fps_max 80, and +fps_max 144 in my launch options.I always do my testing while no other non-essential background services are running. This means no Discord, no Logitech Software, no MSI Afterburner, no GeForce Experience, no Shadowplay. I ensure that they are completely shut down or uninstalled and do not interfere whatsoever with the troubleshooting process.I never have any overlays enabled other than Shadowplay, which I've uninstalled a few days ago.I have played games with all graphics settings to low, medium, and high.I am not using an AntiVirus, including Windows Defender.I have confirmed that "Samsung Rapid Mode" is disabled for my SSD.I have no settings in my Nvidia Control Panel's 3D Settings that conflict with the in-game settings. All options are application controlled other than the Prefer Maximum Performance Setting and the Maximum Possible Refresh Rate setting.I have also tried overriding the available in-game graphics settings with their counterparts in the Nvidia Control Panel's 3D Settings.I have attempted to play with my second monitor enabled, and with my second monitor disabled.I have attempted to disable unused audio output devices that were not in use.I have tried to play after stopping then restarting the Windows Audio Endpoint service.I have attempted to toggle my language in-game.I have tested these memory errors on Fullscreen Mode, Borderless Windowed Mode, and Windowed Mode.I play regularly with a large community of friends with different versions of Windows. The Community Crashing Thread fixes for these Memory Reading/Writing errors on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 have all been successful according to those I play with. However, every single person in my community who uses Windows 7 gets these exact same errors, has tried most of the fixes I've listed here, and not a single one has managed to escape the constant crashes. This is also extremely apparent by the abundance of related threads and comments posted in this forum.Windows 7 is supported according to the game's system requirements, but cannot function due to these memory errors. Ok so what I had to do here was I had to install the Visual C++ redistributables stored in the Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Apex\__Installer\vc\vc2015\redist\ folder. It wouldn't install because I had a later version installed (2017 to be specific) so I uninstalled that via "remove programs and features" and then installed the 2015 one. After that, I had a separate error with "Update available for origin please exit and relaunch origin" etc. etc. So I disabled the ingame origin overlay, stopped the origin web helper service in task manager, and now I can play the game without error on windows 7. Good luck hope this works for others.*edit* I should mention that the previous failures to install the 2015 Visual C++ redistributable were not caught by the update/repair functions of Origin, so it is worth checking that manually even if the Origin Launcher says that the installation checks out. It's possible that Origin does not check that things like this were installed properly as they are separate installers.

I've been having this problem constantly, in about half my games at least. Always referenced memory errors with different numbers, though 0x00000000 is the most common.

After I started the game, it shows this message on the screen. How can I fix it?The instruction at 0x54979414 referenced memory at 0x412843a0. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program.I tried fixing the game files, uninstall and reinstall both origin and the game.

Its hard for me to want to spend another dime when I just crashed with 2 squads left. The nature of this game makes crashing so incredibly frustrating that it steers me away from wanting to play for fear of losing when so close to winning. The craze surrounding this game has made it the next Halo but currently there is a very large population open to another game because they can't stand to crash in this one.

I was playing and sniping and when I click on shift to run I got this crash. It is not the first time that it is in the same time I click on a key.
Do you have this feeling ?

Could it be related to a specific area or object? Because sometimes i crash immediately while other times i run for 10 minutes for crash to happen. It doesnt look like Apex has a crash handle and report tools so they might be in complete dark right now. This Origin app is such a crap, game is good though if it wasnt for the constant crashing. I might install Win10 later, not sure, i have few SSD laying around, but i dont like the hassle of booting into different OS just to play 1 game.

you always press keys. the error happens completly random. sometimes at the very second it transitions to the dropship, sometimes while running 15 minutes into a game or fighting 3 minutes into one. sometimes 4 games in a row, sometimes not for 2 hours.
in 5 hrs today playing with randoms from lfg discord we finished maybe 40% of the games without someone crashing(not only this memory error ofc). the game is broken for many people.
and as much as i was hyped for the season coming up i wont spent a cent on a broken game no matter how good it is. i heard people throwing things at the wall over crashing and then joining for another just to ragequit when the very next game they crashed again.
people love this game but damn its just broken right now.
and tbh its troubling to me that the Device hung crash is stickied in here and talked about in the weekly which seems to be mostly related to driver issues since rolling back to older builds fixes it mostly but the memory crash and errorless straight to desktop one get ignored...

Still getting that "The instruction at at 0xed3c9414 referenced memory at 0x412843a0. The memory could not be read." error every other game, but thank you guys for fixing the flight glitches, peacekeeper quick shoot glitch, and Pathfinder Prime skin exploit as soon as they were found, it was some really some game-breaking stuff. Clearly much more game-breaking than my game literally breaking.

@DasMachineeNo, it has happened absolutely everywhere for me. Whether I'm interacting with something or not, in the menus, in the game, etc.
If you consider rebooting more of a hassle than crashing out of 50% of your games, that's fair, but if you're serious about wanting to play the game then I'd recommend it.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION: NO CRASHES FOR ONE WEEK
Hello all! I have personally fixed the issue for myself, at least during the time that has passed.
I noticed that most people having the errors below were running Windows7 64bit, and all of my friends (which were crash free) were running Windows10 64bit.
"r5apex.exe - Application Error The instruction at 0x00000000 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be written."
"r5apex.exe - Application Error The instruction at 0x(characters vary here) referenced memory at 0x(characters vary here). The memory could not be read.
I had attempted many recommended 'solutions' such as:
Disabling all overlays (Origin in-game overlay, fps counters, discord etc)
Performing many clean re-installations of multiple graphics drivers including v417.17
Uninstalled and reinstalled Apex Legends, as well as Origin
Uninstalling all Microsoft Visual C++ Versions and only installing those required for Apex Legends
Repairing Apex Legends
Reinstalling Origin and Apex Legends onto the same drive as Windows (Previously had installed on secondary SSD)
Disconnecting every drive except Boot Drive (Which obviously had Origin and Apex Legends as well)
Changing pagefile settings
Tried +fps_max (varying values here) in launch options
Turning down all graphics settings to the lowest
Disabling anti-virus(es)
Fullscreen, borderless fullscreen, windowed
Disabling/Enabling varying combinations of G-Sync, V-Sync

So, to fix this problem, I: (disclaimer; I did all of this simultaneously, not all steps may ultimately be required)
Installed Version 417.17 Graphics Drivers (Find the correct one for your graphics card HERE)
Set the games launch options to +fps_max 100 (Origin, game library, settings, game properties, advanced launch options)
Disabling full screen optimisations, run this program as as administrator options on desktop shortcut (Right click, properties, compatibility, tick appropriate boxes, and I also hit "Change settings for all users" as sometimes this boxes unchecked themselves)
Turning on "prefer max performance" for power management mode for both, Windows 10 and in NVIDIA Control panel. (For windows: windows key, settings, system, power & sleep, additional power settings, 'High Performance') (For NVIDIA: NVIDIA control panel, program settings (or global, your choice), Power management mode, prefer maximum performance.
Disabling origin in-game overlay (Click username, application settings, more, origin in-game, disable origin in-game
Increasing Pagefile size (on the drive which has, windows 10, origin and apex legends installed onto) to 16000mb min, 20000mb max
Additional tip...?
