Are you sure this was run on a PC with a wired connection? The connection to your router looks wireless.
Also, you can get some help with opening ports at www.portforward.com. You should be using the IP of your Xbox.
I was connected with an ethernet cable but maybe I needed to turn off my wife in order to test? Let me try that.

Yes. Make sure your wifi is disabled. That way, you can be sure you're on a wired connection.
Here you go. Wireless turned off, so it is 100% a wired test.

Thank you. You've got very high ping times with your router. The first test isn't that bad, but it indicates an issue with a 19 ms ping on a wired connection. Then, the 3rd hop down is a lot higher than it should be. In your second test, you have a worst ping of 243 ms to the router. While the averages are fine, it's showing an unstable connection. That shouldn't be happening when wired. Have you had your ISP run any diagnostics on your equipment? You also may want to do some research on your modem/router model and see if there's some advice for improving its performance.

- 5 years ago@EA_Aljo I understand all of that but my confusion is that it was never an issue until season 9 launched. Could it be a coincidence? Sure. But my guess is the new season just isn’t jiving with my console and it’s frustrating not knowing why. Also I haven’t noticed any issues with any other games so if it was my router then Shouldn’t I see it in other games?

It's possible this is coincidental with changes that are happening with your ISP. I don't think it's an issue with your console not being able to play the game. We have a very large amount of people on Xbox One that aren't having this issue. From your tests, the problem looks to be with your equipment or ISP. I know I had a lot of problems with the modem/router that my ISP provided. When I replaced it with my own separate modem and router, my connection problems disappeared.

Take a look at this 2 minute gameplay before the crossplay merge...I count 3 prediction loss at the top right, one of which was barely noticeable in the gunfight. Look how it used to run smoothly. I even upgraded my ISP months after the clip : https://videotron.com/en/support/helix/equipments/helix-fi-gateway . It's a modem and router. It does a great job, but I suppose I can call to get a check-up or something for 1 game specifically or buy a better modem to connect to it. I tried turning off the crossplay but I queued with 3 players for minutes and figured it was not the right way to play. I need to find a way to update the firmware of my modem/ router. Thanks for the haptic feedbacks - EA_Aljo5 years ago

You should be able to just log in to the admin of your router to check for a firmware update. Try doing a web search on your router model for those instructions.
- 5 years ago@thedowney11 It is not a coincidence man. No other game does it and like you said it literally JUST started happening for me 3 days ago. They cannot admit to it being their problem because they are liable so they only offer suggestions that would not get them in trouble. Suggestions that deal with your end in hopes that it will magically seemed fix. In this case, it will not.

I'm having the exact same issue and I'm also with Videotron. Although I don't have Helix, just the regular modem + seperate router. This issue persists modem only (router bypassed) so I don't think I have any port forwarding to do. Hopefully we get a solution soon
- 5 years ago@MagicMeowmix I saw your post too. To be frank, we're a helpless little minority in the Apex Community. Reading some posts, everyone can run any games just fine but with Apex, we all have the same problem. If the battle pass runs on a console, the game is good to go. I've lost my spark to play since the rubberband made me jump off and die. I can't play pubs because everyone hotdrops and I don't want to commit to rank with rubberbanding more than 5 times within 2 min

I'm glad I'm not the only one because I thought I was going crazy. I saw the Reddit thread as well and I have the EXACT same thing. It's sad because I was really excited for season 9. I waited patiently through the release bugs, but this issue makes the game unplayable for me.
I understand that perhaps most issues are due to home networks or ISP issues, but to blame every issue on that is just terrible. I've bothered my ISP so much just for this 1 game and it's frustrating because I know it's not going to get to the root cause of the issue.

We can't put the blame anywhere without going through troubleshooting. If you'd like to do that, let me know.
That's understandable. Sorry if my comment came off as snarky, it's just what I hear around the forum. I'm very interested in troubleshooting. I had created my own post before discovering this thread :
Apologies if this confuses things, I'm new to forums in general, but it includes all the troubleshooting steps I've taken so far

I responded to the other thread you started. We can go through the troubleshooting there.

I am having the same problem and it’s not just me, me and my buddies that play have the same issue and like everyone else it started after the season 9 update, we are in Montana and I just came back from a deployment and my game isn’t working right. I have the stutter lag and I e tried literally everything. It’s the servers
- 5 years ago
@EA_AljoI've been through all of the troubleshooting so I can firmly put the blame on the game not being optimized for last gen consoles and PCs. 100% as I can run the game perfect on my Series S and upgraded PC. Same internet, same speeds, same connections. Only difference is the last gen Xbox cannot run the game the way it is currently optimized after the patch for the bocheck bow and spitfire changes.
- DarthValtrex5 years agoHero (Retired)@illnastyone I'm having the same issue. Now I just started working again, so my play time is down. But my play time was down substantially before I started the new job. It was down because I'd get frustrated by the lag issues and just close the game.
I have the next 2 days off and thought I'd advance on the BP, get a ton of gaming in this weekend. I've played maybe 3-4 rounds. The game is just simply unplayable. Bad movement, I get insta-knocked because by the time I'm notified I'm being shot I've already taken 100+ damage. So I can hardly fire a few rounds off.
I've voiced concerns about it. It seems to be an issue on consoles, I'm on a 2-3 year old Xbox One S. I have tried absolutely everything and nothing fixes it.
I don't have these issues with other games, played BFV for a bit and the game runs fine. I might try and complete the BP because I already paid for it. But beyond that I don't think I'm going to play much this season.
Buying a Series X sure, I will when I can find one. But I'm not going to pay some scalper $900 for one. So I guess until I can get my hands on a Series X, I won't be playing much apex. - 5 years ago@DarthValtrex I can tell you this till I'm red in the face. It isn't your internet. Support can only suggest trouble shooting methods on your end unfortunately. They are not allowed to admit fault on EA or Respawn's part for the game being no longer optimized for last gen. Sadly enough, that is the case. When patches come out, more and more code (amongst other things) are left in the current build they may or may not be needed and when things aren't cleaned up (optimized properly) these are some of the things that happen.
Thankfully, my newer console (Series S) has superior hardware and these things are not noticeable on it. Unfortunately everyone without a current gen console or comparable PC is out of luck. I can even play my PC and Series S on Wifi without any issues. So I can promise everyone reading it is not an internet issue. I even had a spare Xbox One with no games on it except for Apex Legends and it still did the stutters and freeze frames.
Please don't ban me again for "being disruptive" I am only trying to help and explain all that I have done and what ended up being the final resolution.
Upgraded console = Problem fixed. - 5 years ago
Thanks for the accepted solution xd : To play this free game , we need a new console gotcha
- 5 years ago@hggrreew1111 Honestly wish there were something else in could say to help but I'd just be lying to you.
100% an xbox one issue. I play on my same wired connection on PC, 0 prediction errors. Xbox one stutters every 10 seconds. Got worse season 9.
EA, why aren't you admitting the issue??
- 5 years ago@snickertwix9 I can play wireless on my PC with no issue, even my Series S. The two Xbox Ones I own cannot play the game wired or wireless. Its just very poor optimization of the game since release. What I would do to have day 1 Apex Legends back...

We're still not aware of any official issues with Xbox One performance. If we find any, they will be investigated.
