@AviatorPhil1 I don't feel enable loudness equalization is the solution as it amplifies every sounds even the faintest one(like some background noise) to the same volume as your gunshot, not to mention the echo from your gunshot now lasts for much longer & louder than it normally should be.

I had a brand new pc setuped and having the same issue as yours. Gunshot volume blasts my ears while I hearing almost nothing from footsteps etc.
