Apex legends update has locked the game modes option only choice is firingrange?

After downloading the newest update I'm having an issue loading up any gamemodes other than firing range.  Is the server offline?  Is this a problem that anyone else is having? How do I/we fix it?

Apparently EA servers are in the quantum state: they are both available and unavailable at the same time:

Can you guys fix this stuff so i can play Apex Legends? My internet, my router, my ISP are all apparently fine, i played the game just 10 mins ago.

@zam0th - that's how they roll, lots of network problems. Either really bad net code, network management or they're getting DDoS'd frequently and don't have the $$s or care enough to handle it.
