Apex no longer working with VPN

so i just tried to log in and play the new season when i was hit with 'this account is not permitted to play online'.

i figured it was server issues with the new season and so many people playing all at once and i left it for a few hours.

i came back and tried again and still the same thing, i try over and over and i just cant seem to log in, so i try to log in without my VPN on and it works just fine.

the thing is, i was playing APEX just this morning trying to get the last few levels of the battle pass with my VPN on just this morning and everything worked fine.

is anyone else having these issues?

for context i'm using Express VPN and i play on the EUW servers
