If you go in game audio settings at the bottom it says 7.1 surround or stereo? If it's surround that is why the audio is muffled.
Check if windows spatial sound is enable "control panel sound default audio device double click it and the last tab is spatial sound it should be off
Before season 15 the command for stereo was +miles_channels 2 but in season 15 game crashes with this command in launch options.
The only thing that worked for me was forcing the game to use DX12 with this command added in launch options -eac_launcher_settings SettingsDX12.json
