5-year ban over a single 2021 chat line and contradictory support responses
I am posting this as feedback because this has been one of the most confusing account enforcement and support experiences I have had.
My EA account was inaccessible for 5 years.
During that time, I opened multiple support cases trying to resolve the issue.
When I appealed again recently, the violation context I was given was a single 2021 chat line:
“Asalaras: reatrd”
Whatever EA’s view is on that message, a 5-year ban over one historical chat line feels difficult to understand from a proportionality standpoint.
What made the situation even more frustrating was the support handling.
At first, I received responses that strongly suggested there was still a serious ongoing account action. Later, I was told:
“As the sanction has since expired, you can now log back into your account.”
So after 5 years of no access, my account became accessible again only now, after a chain of contradictory responses.
I also explained that I lost years of progression opportunities while the account was inaccessible, including:
- battle pass seasons
- ranked seasons
- event progression
- login streaks / daily / weekly content
- limited-time modes / event trackers
- account XP / level opportunities
I am sharing this because the process and communication were extremely difficult to understand, especially after multiple cases over the years.
