Recent format, all updates installed. All drivers up to date. Game repaired/reinstalled.
Win7 64bit i5 6600k GTX 1070.

Reddit post shows another person with similar hardware having same issue. Is it a i5 or k series issue?
I feel like it has to do with the games internal hardware detection.
same problem, also running a i5 6600k and gtx 970, game runs fine sometimes but i get these black squares covering the map and screen flicker

I had the same problem. Go to video settings in the game and set it to "windowed" from fullscreen. Close the game and relaunch and it's gone. ONLY works if u do that every single time you open the game tho :/.
Note: you can change it back to full screen after launching in windows mode you just have to repeat the steps everytime.
