Blue Yeti mic - Will not transmit in Apex

I've been having the frustrating problem that my microphone will not transmit in Apex Legends.   It is a Blue Yeti  USB mic, and is set up in Windows as the default mic.  However, inside Apex Legends itself,  it is seemingly unresponsive.      I have the default "T" key plus the  "Mouse 5" button bound to Push To Talk, yet neither of these  even "light up the little microphone icon next to your name" nor in any other way suggest transmission is active.      I've tested the mic as active in other applications and/or Windows, yet it seems to be a problem here.   I've also gone into the sound mixer / by application feature in Windows when Apex is running and set it  manually from "Default" to  the Yeti  for the input ;  neither setting seems to make a difference.

Apparently I've been far from the only one with microphone problems, but many of the threads were from many versions ago, so I thought I'd make an updated one.     Assistance would be appreciated.

P.S -  It would be helpful if Apex had an IN GAME option to select your audio input and output  options, as many titles do.  I don't even know for sure Apex is using the "right" input because of the lack of this menu.    This would also be improved by adding a  "testing" menu for  the active mic, both under  voice activation (to see how it works within the threshold you've set) and PTT  (to ensure it is transmitting when you push the intended key).

Thanks.
