Change of dpi affecting the game in mysterious ways

Hey there.

Yesterday I decided to play around with my new mouse and dpi settings.

As many here I started with the suggested 400 dpi range even though my mouse can pull up to 25600.

Yesterday I changed my dpi to a higher (much higher) value and adjusted my game sensitivity accordingly: game sense = mouse dpi * in-game sensitivity figure.

E.g. went from 400 dpi on 2 sensitivity to 1600 dpi and 0.5 sensitivity

Yet I realized that weird stuff happened - my game felt ok, yet when looting my pointer is just flying all over the place. Found out that inventory is affected by Windows pointer speed, adjusted it as much as I could even though it is still not consistent with the in-game game sensitivity.

But even weirder I noticed that after these two adjustments crosshair when opening the map is still flying like crazy and there is no apparent way to adjust it.

Please explain:

a) why there are at least 3!!! different sensitivities/sensitivity affecting variables (dpi, in-game sensitivity setting, windows pointer settings)?

b) how to adjust the crosshair when opening the map sensitivity?

Suggestion - maybe you can tie all 3 together so that all 3 places take just raw input and that's it... I guess that's how it works in most games, at least I haven't had such bizarre situation up until now and I have played quite a few games 🙂

Thanks!
