Thank you for trying to help! I did try those steps and so far no code:net issue, but my connection to the servers was pretty bad. My ping is usually around 68ms but yesterday I was averaging around 88ms-110ms and I had lots of in and out dropping (using in game tool). I shut down everything and had my roommate hop on to see if he was also having issues (to trouble shoot if it was maybe out internet) but he wasn't experiencing the same issues I was. He also has never gotten he code:net issue too. I was getting lots of jitter and stuttering despite having a constant 144 fps. I am running on a wired connection and unfortunately don't have a wifi card to troubleshoot.
I ran through the UO trace test as well and posted the results. I did go through the pc trouble shooting as well to see if that helps. So far I haven't gotten the code:net issue but I did only play a couple games. I am working on some lesson plans for today but once I finish, I'll hop on some more later this afternoon.
Other steps I did in addition to the two help pages:
- Checked for driver updates (non for the NIC)
- swapped router ports
- disabled any power saving mode for the LAN adapter
- made sure it was running in 2.5gbps mode instead of 1gbps
- used my roommate for sanity check
- checked for router firmware updates
Specs of my system too just for reference
- Ryzen 5 5600x
- ASRock b550 steal legend
- RTX 2080s
- 16gb ram
We also have an ASUS AC1500 as our router attached to our Centurylink modem
Let me know if there is anything else I can try. The issue does seem to be isolated to just my PC in my house so I believe there may be more I can do. I worked in IT for 4 years before teaching so I am extremely comfortable with troubleshooting computers and networks so I am very happy to work together! Again seeing the UO trace test at a ping roughly higher by 20ms than what I had in game last week is definitely interesting/
But thank you so much for your help! I appreciate it so much!
