I'm looking at buying the BenQ Mobiuz monitor 165hz to play 120fps with the new Apex update. In game the help message for turning on performance mode recommends an hdmi 2.1, while the Mobiuz has hdmi 2.0. Will monitors that do not support hdmi 2.1+ not be able to get 120fps?

So i recently acquired an alienware monitor capable of up to 188hz to coincide with the Apex Season 20 update for consoles. I'm playing the game though and it's still on 60. Any help? How do i get it to run 120
Depending on the console you have, its either a setting on it, or on your monitor.
I am sure if you search online, whether its PS5 or Xbox, and then check if you need to change anything on your monitor, youll find what is keeping it from running at 120.
So I have the MSI Optix G273 Monitor as well as an Xbox Series X. When I went on to Apex today, I noticed that when I went to settings, I couldn’t change to Performance mode (120fps) and it was grayed out. The MSI Optix G273 has 165 HZ and I’m using a 2.1 HDMI cable so I don’t know why the 120 on FPS wouldn’t be working! https://192168ll.link/ https://19216801.onl/
I have a good monitor lg27gp950. It's 144hz, I've got performance mode and 120fps enabled on playstation. But I don't have any in game options to change performance.
So far I'm really enjoying this new season but unfortunately the higher frames aren't as I thought they'd be. I've played call of duty before at 60 FPS and then on 120 FPS and it's simply amazing. On the other hand on apex legends it's not quite like that, it definitely feels smoother but the screen gets quite blurry. I can barely see the enemies at longer ranges, screen feels quite patchy. Surely it wasn't meant to be like this. I understand that you could have reduced the visual quality a little bit but not at this level.

but its so blury and u cant see more than 20 30 m maximum can u give us full video settings plz
My problem was because i had the ps4 version..
When i go to the game it says play the game in the store.. but when u click on the dots and click more info u can download the ps5 version...
It took me a while to get mine working. I have a Odessey G9 49". I had to update my firmware for my monitor to get it to work. I use the monitor PIP, so essentially I cut the screen in half, which I always do anyways. I was expecting the graphics to be grainy as Respawn warned us. It will be tough for those who like long range sniping as the graphics aren't good at all. Im hoping that this is part one of their journey to get us where we need to be. It would be great if Respawn would give us a roadmap as to when we should expect improvements to the quality of the graphics, but as we all know, comms aren't their strong suit. Im on the fence as to whether they should have done it all at once or not, but I guess they need to roll it out in phases for stability reasons.
What makes this so hard? PC players are getting 200+ fps....sigh.
