CONSTANT Nintendo Switch Error - "Profile Not Permitted To Play Online"

Every time I start up Apex Legends on my Nintendo Switch (My only gaming Console) and get to the Start screen an error box appears saying "This Profile Is Not Permitted To Play Online". This started happening after I renamed myself on my Nintendo Switch Profile a couple of times (which also renames my In-Game name to the same name somehow).

Here's what I see every time I start up Apex Legends:

This has been happened every single time I launch Apex Legends on my Nintendo Switch even if I delete and reinstall Apex, Delete Save Data, or even completely reset/memory wipe my Nintendo Switch ever since Season 13 (Saviors). I'm tired of this happening and I want to know if others are having this occurrence.

I am usually able to get past it by doing a certain method that I'll list below:

I personally can get past it by doing these steps below (may not work for others):

Step 1 (Open Accessibility Settings):

Step 2 (Turn Off Voice To Chat Text):

Step 3 (Close Accessibility Settings):

Step 4 (Open Accessibility Settings again and re-enable Voice To Chat Text) :

Step 5 (Close Accessibility Settings and Press A to Retry (Different button depending on Console/PC):

Step 6 (Wait for Loading Screen):

Conclusion (Play Game):

I don't know if having both Voice to Chat Text and Text to Speech enabled is how this bug is occurring, but I really need help and advice on how to fix this.

I have checked for Corrupt Data and it always says "No Corrupt Data Found). I reinstalled Apex Legends after checking for Corrupt Data again and it still appears. I checked my system to make sure everything was up to date (which everything was) yet it still appears. I tried Memory Wiping the console and re-downloading Apex Legends and yet again, it still appears.

I seriously need help.

Please Help,

Thanks,

Sincerely,

Versalord

  • My profile is not permitted to play online.

I play apex legends on my nintendo switch. I have never had a problem with it until 2 days ago. I go to the website that the error message says to go to and i can’t find a single thing to help me. i have contacted nintendo support and ea help multiple times and no one helped resolve the issue.

    Thanks for the posts.

@Versalord If you power cycle your router does that have any effect? Or if you have the opportunity to test on another wifi connection does that change anything?

Also, if you try using another account as a test does that also experience this? If none of these help, can I just check if leaving the login screen idle on the error message ever makes the error go away and lets you load in?

@c3m3nth3ad Can you try the steps above? Also I'm curious, have you changed your name in the past? It shouldn't be a factor, but I want to check it as a possible common factor between accounts.

    @c3m3nth3ad Glad to hear.

Just to double check for my own issue tracking, was it the router power cycle that made this go away?

@EA_David I made a new account just to test if it would occur on a different account, and yes, it still occurs even with a brand new account (all I did was turn on Captions, Voice To Chat Text, and Chat To Speech and it occurred as soon as I logged back in) I also tested with a completely different WIFI connection (different brand as well) when I went to my Mom's house (which is 9.3 Miles away from where I currently live) and it still occurred. It does seem to let me in after I let the start screen sit idle for a little bit (I didn't time it but I'd say it took at least 10 minutes). I won't be able to Power Cycle the Router as I live in a Group Home and I don't officially own the Router, I just live here. It does seem that Voice To Chat Text may be part of the issue. I hope this information helps and Happy Thanksgiving.
