Cpu usage jumps to 100% after clicking continue from main screen.
Sorry for the long entry, you don't have to read the whole thing if you don't want to to it is honestly just a long rant about the situation. I think I was able to sum everything up pretty nice in the 2nd paragraph. I would very much appretiate it if you read the first paragraph if you are an associate for EA because it kind of breaks everything down, but meh as long as some of its read cool.
I will be completely honest, I have spent a couple months looking for solutions to which I have tried almost everything I see including the strange decision on dropping more than half of my cpu cores as mention by a community manager on this site, to no avail sadly. The final option I read from the ea answers page was a mod who said on someone else's post with a similar situation to mine saying, if nothing previous has worked then all I can do is wait for the problem to be fixed on apex/ea's side of things. I just cant help but feel like you guys just don't want me to play the game lmao. Took me a couple days to get my account recovered from being hacked (which was only taken for about 6-7days) to which it took close to 4-5 hours to reclaim once I got the option( the help rep was very nice which was a plus). Then a week after I get it back this cpu thing started happening I just havnt been able to play apex with more then 20 fps in arguably ~5 months. To which I want to say the better part of 3 maybe even into the 4th month I have been waiting for this "update on apex end to fix the cpu issue". I understand it may be difficult getting a wide range of processors to work with the game itself; however, I feel as though this is a pretty BIG GAME BREAKING BUG that is causing a very large amount of the player base to leave the game. I did some research and the first report I saw of this cpu incident was late 2019. That means this has been an issue for close to 2 years. An issue that is lowering the consumer base on your game and hasn't been fixed. Idk personally I feel like thats something that you would allocate a lot of recourse to finding a solution but, (honestly no toxicity) you guys probably know more about the engine code more than anyone so if it truly takes that long then oh well but all I just want to do is play the damn game.
To sum it up I jump from 1.5% CPU at start to 97.8% after getting into the lobby where I can invite friends and check weapons and what not. I have tried every solution I could find on every post back to 2019 to which I am left with the sit and wait for apex to fix. Does any one maybe know some more things I could try? It's just been a while and I want to play the game at 144fps not 20 which is unplayable after making the switch to 144hz lmao. Thanks for any responses!
- Hey, @itshipocampi can you try to run a windows system file checker and see if that helps. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e
