Forum Discussion
hello, this is my situation:
PS account:
number of Apex Packs: A
Apex Coins: B
Craft Metals: C
same PC account:
number of Apex Packs: X
Apex Coins: Y
Craft Metals: Z
what happens when Cross Progression arrives? thank you.
ps. among Apex Packs I have Legendary ones and Event ones, too; on both accounts, of course.
As you noted your PlayStation and PC accounts are on the same EA account, you'll have access to all this content regardless of platform once Cross Progression is live on your account.
The exception would be any platform-exclusive content in those packs, which would only be available on that particular platform.

@EA_MakoWhat about asking to have the option to AVOID merging. I want to keep my PS4 and PC account, tied to the Same EA user name separate. When originally discussed it said we could decide not to merge. But the latest FAQ say mandatory.

Hi @BinkDeBook,
I'm afraid Cross Progression is not optional as you noted from the FAQ, correct.
Once the migration takes place, you'll be able to access all your content through any platform on the same EA account, with the restrictions mentioned previously. We don't have any plans for that aspect to change. - 2 years ago
@EA_Mako That is very sad... So my back when Apex Dropped, my son (then around 10ish), logged in on my account on the Playstation started playing Apex. He is now just over level 600 (heirlooms, skins, etc). Around season 5 he convinced me to join him, so I joined on PC (when Cross play started). I am also now just over level 600 (heirlooms, skins, etc). Basically my account on the Playstation is what he's been playing on since Season 1, and the account on the PC is what I've been playing on since Season 5. I managed to just recently pass him in levels on the PC (If I had known at the beginning of the season this is how Cross progression would have worked, we would have figured out how to keep HIS variant as the highest level set vs. mine!). Which means all of his starts on the PS will be lost/merged in with all my my stats on the PC. Which we really didn't want to occur.
1) Will this prevent us from both being logged in under the same account on PS and PC and playing together?
2) Will it pick the best stats from each character/season and merge it or will it toss out all the stats that existed from one of the accounts? (i.e. apply a MAX function on things)
3) Will it muck up all the badges and such from earlier season that either of us have?
Odds are this will prevent/stop him from playing Apex breaking one of our fun times together, since all of his stats will be lost. (like what happened in Season 8ish where my account on the PC was Banned for no reason, and took 2 seasons to get fixed, and he essentially stopped playing).
At least if I could PICK which of the 600+ accounts to be treated as the main one, it would be better stats wise (His stats blow mine out of the water)

Hey @BinkDeBook,
Sorry to hear about that, as it definitely sounds like you've each put in quite a bit of time and effort into the account.
Unfortunately, this would be a side effect of sharing the account as it's intended for each player to be using their own individual EA account.
In those situations where multiple people are on the same account, I'm afraid we really don't have a way around it as this is technically against our User Agreement. Which isn't meant as a callout, just to share some clarity on why this type of thing will be very limited in terms of alternative options.
It's likely you may not both be able to sign into the same account simultaneously after this and would need to create a second account, though this would also be starting from scratch as progress cannot be transferred across EA accounts.
The stats that are migrated will be based on your primary (highest level) account, as one of the few things that cannot be merged.
Badges are a different beast entirely as they'll work a bit differently depending on the type of badge. Feel free to click through the spoiler for more details on that as this post is already approaching wall of text status. 🙂
SpoilerSome badges from Apex Legends’ earlier seasons previously earned on a non-primary account (an account that isn't the highest level at the time of Cross Progression) may not be merged into the new Cross Progression enabled account which will be used going forward.
If these badges can be earned again through future gameplay, that is the only way to reacquire these badges.
For badges that cannot be obtained again due to their nature - e.g. a badge awarded for completing a former season’s Battle Pass or achieving a particular rank in an old season - Respawn is investigating returning these badges to affected users in the future. We'll have more to communicate about this investigation and its outcome at a later date.

I have PS5 and xbox account linked to my EA account.
This was done BEFORE crossplay so I could play with different friends.
I have Founders pack which I PAID money for and have been collecting the exclusives on both consoles.
I have Wraiths Heirloom on both accounts.
I am absolutely livid that you are making this mandatory and I will lose alot of content that I PAID YOU MONEY FOR!
THIS IS WRONG!

Unopened packs will be combined so you don't lose any, correct.
If you just linked your PlayStation account to the same EA account as your Steam account on the 28th, none of that PlayStation content would be merged. You will be able to access the Steam content on either Steam or that PlayStation account, however. If your PlayStation account was previously connected to a different EA account, it's not possible to transfer that content to a separate EA account.
The heirloom pity timer from your highest level account will carry over to the new cross progression enabled account.
We aren't able to provide refunds or compensation for duplicates on separate accounts, sorry.
You'll see a notification in-game once your account migration is ready to begin! Not everyone will see this day 1, but once you receive the notification in-game you'll be all set. There's nothing more you need to do at this point so just keep an eye out for that to show up!

That doesn't make sense. The website says accounts created after 26th of October. Not accounts linked to EA after the 26th. (See screenshot)
And if so. Why didn't you give your player base a heads up to link your account before the 26th?
I have a lvl 500 acc on Playstation I'll never use again but in which I spend lots of money on skins and apex packs. I've been waiting for this merge to come and now it's finally here I can't merge my accounts...
I was so happy but this is horrible

Hey @CatBearCow,
To clarify, the section in question is:
Note: to prevent exploitation, any accounts created after Oct 26th for the same EA account, will not be eligible to be merged.
Accounts created for the same EA account is functionally any account being connected to that EA account, whether it was previously attached elsewhere or is being added for the first time. Apologies for any confusion there.
Keep in mind that if you were playing on two separate EA accounts, these would not be eligible to be merged even if this took place prior to October 26th. Progress has never been transferrable from one EA account to another, and this is not changing.
This migration is to allow your content to be accessible across any platforms attached to the same EA account.

My screenshot says apex accounts created after 26th. That's something different.
And my psn account wasn't linked to another EA account.
Is there something that can be done to still merge the accounts?
Why didn't I get a heads up for this?

Hi @CatBearCow,
Your screenshot is the same as my quote. It mentions for the same EA account as well, which just means what I'd clarified previously.
You had originally mentioned your PS4 account was quite old. If you've ever played Apex or any other EA titles on that account, it has been linked to an EA account. It's not possible to play Apex without linking to an EA account.
Different EA accounts cannot be merged even prior to this cutoff date. There wouldn't have been a notification as you still wouldn't be able to merge separate EA accounts together regardless, unfortunately. - 2 years ago
I think its pretty weird to not let that be possible. How would we know before all this that we did need it all to be on the same EA account? I never even knew before that we were able to link platform accounts to ea accounts. And at one point i started using a different main email adress. So when i started playing on pc, i made a EA account with that email and not the same email as where my Xbox apparently is linked to. So now i wont be able to merge my account since they are not the same EA account.
Oof.
My console account used another EA account.
I mistakenly used a different EA account when I got into PC gaming and just stuck with it including Apex Legends since there was no way to transfer progress anyways.
So I am essentially screwed out of the cross progression update because the accounts are on different EA accounts.
Unlinking my Xbox from one account gets rid of all the in game data from what I read. Then you have to wait 6 months to re-link it again but it is pointless since there will be no data on it.
Is there really nothing I can do? - 2 years ago
@EA_Mako It's not the same. The screenshot says any Apex account created after the 26th.
Also, I'm using the same e-mail address for steam/origin/playstation/EA for over 5 years so it cant be my playstation account is connected to another EA account since i only have 1 EA account. - EA_Mako2 years ago

I'm just basing my statement on what you posted earlier. There seems to be some confusion as you mentioned it was both a very old account and also just linked to your EA account on the 28th.
If this is a very old account, it must have been linked to an EA account. Apex accounts cannot exist independently of an EA account, so it was either linked to this one in the past, or a different EA account.

I have a playstation account which i linked to EA today. My steam account was already linked to EA.
If this was linked to your EA account for the first time on the 28th, or was previously on a separate EA account and was linked to this one at any point, none of the progress from the PlayStation account will transfer or be migrated.

When will the prompt show up for cross progression? I haven't seen it yet and it is 2PM. Had the game updated for 30 minutes now restarting constantly.

Hey everyone,
As a reminder, while Cross Progression is being introduced this season, it is rolling out in waves so not everyone may see it immediately.
You should see a splash screen similar to the one below confirming your account has been migrated once this takes place.
Don't be concerned if this doesn't appear for you immediately, but once that process completes do let us know if you're encountering anything unusual. Thanks!

Then please tell me to which EA account my Apex on my playstation is linked. Because i have been using the same mailaddress for ages.

I play on PC on the EA app, will I still be able to merge my Xbox Progress when I am prompted with cross progression? Or do I need to be playing on steam to recieve the prompt? And how long will it roll out in waves for? I was hoping to get on my PC and just be able to immediately transfer my Xbox progress.

Same here, started on PlayStation end season zero in apex. Cod Mw came out and later warzone and i was gone. Meanwhile i switched to xbox, in my head was only forza, get bored, started apex with different account, almost lvl 500 again but totaly free to play.
BUT:
My PlayStation account is legit and everything, when he get the notification about crossprogression, then i simply can log into apex on xbox with my old EA account and got my * like heirlooms... or am i wrong?
I red hole cross support site, and they said that every account is then just an ea account after this hole cross progression process.
I hope that I just easy can log in only with PlayStation stats items and everything and im good
By the way, apex is my favorite game of all time, but they suck so badly like this only 60fps Console *...
Last week i updated to series x and from 75hz monitor to 144hz wqhd. Apex wasnt crazy different. But warzone... wow like I got crazy superpowers lol

@Faithova994
If all of your accounts are connected to 1 EA account when you get "invited" to crossprogression, once you open the game you'll get a prompt saying "Cross Progression Is Here!"
Then all your accounts skins and heirlooms will merge into the one "main" account (Things like Stats, Badges will only transfer from the account with highest level).
And then you should be basically done! - 2 years ago
Yea i know lol, you dont get what i mean..
Both of my apex accounts got different EA Accounts. But can i not just log with my first EA acc which is connect with my playstation on my xbox ?
Like I played apex one year after release on Playstation.
Years later i wanna play again but on xbox. Can i not just log in with this EA Account from playstation into xbox??
Also I would like to add a question in terms of the cross progression, so when I checked on "linked accounts" my Xbox account is linked but not my steam would that benefit from me doing the cross progression safely? Because like my last reply I could care less about my steam account a.k.a my second account I just would like to have my Xbox progression on my pc account.
