Cross progression used the wrong account

To confirm if the Xbox account was switched from a previous EA account, this would most likely be the reason why the PC account was made the main one.
If you unlink a platform account from it's EA account you do not take progress and items with you as they are stored at the EA account level. So when you linked it to the EA account that you also use with your PC platform, you would not have any progress there for Xbox.
If you wish to try and recover progress and items, you would want to relink the Xbox back to its original EA account.
