D-pad On controller not working?

I got on apex today and for whatever reason my D-pad on my controller has stopped functioning in apex entirely (almost. Ill hit the button and it might trigger 2-7 minutes later that's not an exaggeration) I've tested it in other games and it works just fine. Anyone else having this issue. And before I get asked, no I don't have any CFG's on. (Restarting the game, steam and my computer itself And even reinstalling the game. All have proved fruitless) - This happening to anyone else? - Anyone have any plausible fixes?

    UPDATE: Some one found how to fix it for me im going to copy the message here

    I finally found the fix for this.

    1. If using STEAM, go to the steam "settings"

    2. Click "Controller".

    3. Find "Test Device Inputs" and click "Begin Test".

    4. Click "Setup Device Inputs"

    5. Every button it highlights on the controller, press those buttons. Do this until you have pressed them all. After doing this you can exit.

    This Worked for me hopefully it'll do the same to everyone else with this issue
