Dualshock4 controller not detected on bluetooth

I don't know if this is a bug or a technical issue, but I recently bought a bluetooth dongle to use my PS4 controller when playing apex on PC, and the game doesn't recognize it. It works just fine when I use it with a cable, but the moment I try using it via bluetooth, it stops being detected. I'm playing via steam, and Steam recognizes the controller just fine, the problem comes in-game only.

Update: I've installed the DS4Windows driver and now it works, but it's scuffed, as it's emulating an xbox controller and I can't change how the controls are displayed on the game incorrectly (for example, it tells me to press A instead of X, or X instead of square). I'm looking for a way for the game to detect my controller natively, which Steam does.
