Solved

EA credentials expired. Reset password ad infinitum.

I started playing Apex in Season 7. Had no issues. Shortly after season 9 launched. I went to start Apex (from Steam), and it says I have to do a password reset. Cool, no big issue. Reset my password to my EA account. Relaunch Apex. "Reset your password". Try clicking on the bar at the bottom that says to click here to login. Same message for resetting my password and the same link to EA to reset my password pops up.

After dealing with that over and over. I notice that my Steam account is no longer linked with my EA account. Weird since I have changed nothing with either my EA or Steam accounts. But what ever, I will link them again. Clink on Steam, input my info for my Steam account. It comes up with no issue. Click ok, Click yes EA can have access to my Steam ID. Then it pops up saying that my EA credentials have expired and I need to reset  my password. Kind of weird since I just reset my password several times earlier. Do the password reset. Try to link again. Same credentials have expired message telling me to reset my password.

Alright I've had quite enough of this. Screw it. I'll just make  a new account. Make a new account with a second email that I have. Go to link Steam, approve Steam ID usage. "Credentials have expired" error pops up again. How have my credentials on an account that is less than 30 minutes old expired? What is this crazy infinite loop of reset your password?

  • problem with that. I did redownload Origin since i used to play Apex on Steam but i cant. I logged on to Origin to find that it was basically a new profile at level 1. I don't want that. I want my old skins, progress and legends back. Why hasnt EA said anything about this literal game breaking bug. Like * hell.

Ok so i basically managed to fix my problem. I went back and checked to see if Steam was linked to something else and it was. My Steam account was linked to my Xbox outlook profile account. So i changed the password of that and it reopened the Game for me on my PC Apex account.

If you want to access your old account i suggest making sure you dont have a seperate account linked to your EA account. That will definitely help

  • @llrapidshock Try seeing if there's another account linked to your EA account like a console account and reset that password and see if it works.

I legit have the exact same issue on my PS4. I talked to someone in the Help Chat and their answer to it all was to delete my account entirely. This company's customer relations department bites.

  • The solution to this problem is actually quite simple.  The problem exists for all EA games on Steam, and neither Steam nor EA care to do anything about it (because it's intentional, they already got your money).  So just NEVER buy an EA game EVER again.  If your friends get an EA game in the future, just leave any time they start to play it.  They only care about console players.  I've been going through this infinite loop on several Steam/EA apps I PAID FOR.  And they refuse to refund, of course.  It's companies like these that have been sapping all of the fun out of PC gaming for years.  I literally paid EA so that I could spend hundreds of frustrating hours trying to log in so I can play games I bought 2 years ago and have never been able to play

Support never understands English.  And where they're located, apparently you are considered very smart if you can figure out how to click the 'reset password' button all on your own.  They really think they did a good job in helping you solve your problem.  And EA doesn't care about your problem, anyways, or they would have people available who speak the same native language as you.  The price of video games rises, the quality of support gets worse.  They only understand money...  OK... STOP GIVING THEM MONEY.  Buy someone elses game
