Engine Error - Couldn't Initialize Sound

After the legacy update, I receive this error on startup of apex. I am running the game from the EA launcher. Does anyone have suggestions on a fix?

    I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. It seems to be working fine now

Yeah got the exact same issue. Didn't find a solution so far

      uninstall and reinstall doesn't help...
