I can confirm Apex doesn't recognize the microphone when you use EqualizerAPO.
You can still have EqualizerAPO installed and use your mic in Apex by checking "Device Properties > Enhancements > Disable all enhancements", but that means you are not using EqualizerAPO of course. You can enable it back to use it in other programs.
Apex is the only game/program that I encountered with this weird behavior.
Imo it's a bug that should be fixed, but I wouldn't hold my breath...
Edit: I managed to get it working by unmarking "Use original APO" for the capture device in the EqualizerAPO Configurator.
I also selected "Install as SFX/EFX (experimental)", but I'm not sure if that matters.
It requires a restart to apply this.
