Failed to CreateGameWindow. Resolution (1280x720) unsupported?

I've gotten this issue today for no apparent reason, and no matter what i try i just cannot get to play Apex. I don't understand why it happens because it never happened to me in the past 3 years. Can someone please explain how i can fix that and play on Fullscren 1920x1080 again?

@RaisinOcto  Try changing to a different resolution first. And if that works, change back to the desired resolution.

Or in addition to @XHelperZ 's configuration, modify also:

    "setting.fullscreen" "1"
    "setting.nowindowborder" "0"

    and then restart.

The cause of this issue is unknown to me, though I can mention a possible fix to this issue.

Follow the steps and see if that resolves your issue:

    1. Press Windows Key + R
    2. Put in %USERPROFILE% and select OK
    3. Go to the Saved Games Folder
    4. Navigate to the Respawn Folder
    5. Navigate to the Apex Folder
    6. Navigate to the local Folder
    7. Open videoconfig.txt
    8. Change setting.defaultres to 1920
    9. Change setting.defaultresheight to 180
    10. Save the document

Additionally, you can also try deleting the videoconfig.txt file, this will reset the videoconfig to default, though it can reset some of your graphics settings.

  • So far i've done this like 20 times and it hasn't done anything, i don't know what i can do anymore.

  • I appreciate the help, i really do. But it turns out the problem fixed itself and all i needed to do was uninstall and reinstall the game 4 times and wait a day. I am still very grateful for your time.
