fps locked at 60 in game despite getting 180 in firing range

I just got a new PC just to play Apex only to find out that Apex is the only game that won't play at more than 60 FPS in game and 30 in the dropship. I've tried reinstalling anti-cheat, reinstalling the game, updating windows, doing a clean boot, adjusting nvidia/monitor settings, adjusting in game settings, and manually disabling all overlays. I have a 240 hz g-sync monitor and I have no second monitor, so that solution won't work. No matter what I try, the game stays locked at 60 despite running at 180 FPS in the firing range. At this point I'm out of ideas and have no idea what to do especially considering this doesn't happen in other games.

Hi, if you go into origin properties and enter the following command line argument does anything change?

    +fps_max 240

To enter this click the game panel in Origin. Now click the cog icon, then Game Properties. Now click the Advanced Launch Options tab.

  • I forgot to mention I already had +fps_max unlimited on but I still tried what you said and nothing changed. Any other ideas?

Are you playing in Windowed or fullscreen?

If you wipe your videoconfig file (the gmae will make a new one from a default template) does that have any effect? Sometimes settings get stuck.

    You'll find it at C:\Users\yourusername\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\local
