Freezes and FPS drops

Hello,

It's been a while now, i got huge fps drops while playing. It make the game sort of freeze for 1 or 2 seconds.

It seems to happen every minute while playing, but sometimes it really feels like hacking (i know its probably not, it happens on every game and my pc is clean), because it often happens precisly when i come right in front of an enemy. It also happens while looting, when nothing special is going on. When the freeze appears, the game acts like i was continuing the same action i was doing when it comes up until the end of the freeze. Meaning if i'm walking when it starts freezing, i will come out of the freeze, and then stop walking. In fights, that basicly means i die :')

I captured the end of a game i was playing and we can see that the fps drop happens at 0:52, 1:52, 2:52, etc...

It only happens on Apex and my pc can run things like cyberpunk with no issues.

I tried every solution i found on the previous topics that i found talking about fps drops, but nothing worked. Changing the graphics doesn't have any impact (even with everything on high, and everything on low/unabled).I've been having those issues since a moment now, and my computer have been completly reinstalled 2 times in the meantime, it didnt change anything.

Here's a small and non exaustiv list of what i tried :

- changing graphics,

- run the game as admin,

- close everything else than the game while playing,

- change the settings through the nvidia control panel,

- optimize the game through nvidia GeForce,

- type some commands in the launching options on origin,

- waiting for updates (game or drivers),

- launch with compatibility for win8,

- and others i cant remember...

Here's the link of the capture i made :

And here's my computer's setup :

NVIDIA GeForce GTX970

Intel i5-4690 3.5GHz

24Go ram

Please help me with that, it just turns the game unplayable on ranked and ruins most of my games...

  • @EA_Kent Ok ! It seems that i have found a solution (surely disapointing for most people because it looks very specific :/) i just disabled my diaporama-wallpaper function, and it looks like my issues dont appear anymore... I've not posted for a while because i couldnt believe it was that dumb, but after few days like this, the problem seems to be gone :')
Thanks for your answers and advices ! I'll come back if the problem does so, but for now i think its resolved ! :D

happy me wishes you a good day !

    Hey @Uhroboros

What you're describing sounds like it could be more of a connectivity issue than actual FPS drops. Can we try running through some connection troubleshooting to see if that helps?

When you have the chance I'd recommend starting off with the basic connectivity troubleshooting steps from the EA Help website first to see how that goes. If you're still having any issues after that check out the PC-specific steps as well.

Let me know how that goes once you've had the chance to give it a shot. Thanks!

Thanks! I appreciate you giving this a shot. When you have the chance can you share a DxDiag so we can take a look? For more information on how to pull one up check out the EA Help website. Once you have the text file please attach it to this thread.

    Thanks again,

    Thank you! I appreciate that.

I am curious if this may be an issue related to Easy Anti-Cheat. I've seen some cases in the past where EAC has had some conflicts with other software, in particular other anti-cheat or security programs. Do you have any other anti-cheat software installed on your PC at the moment?

    /Kent

  • @EA_Kent No i don't. Is it possible to change my anti-cheat? like installing one and get rid of EAC? (i guess not of course but worth the shot :'))

    @Uhroboros

I'm afraid not. Apex Legends and Easy Anti-Cheat are a package deal. Have you tried repairing or reinstalling EAC to see if that makes a difference? You can find more information on how to do that over at the EAC website

Let me know if you're still seeing any freezing or FPS issues after that. Thanks!
