Thanks for giving it a shot.
What happens if you set up a Clean Boot on your PC before you launch Apex Legends? If there's anything else running on the PC that could be causing this to happen that may help get around it.
For more details on how to set one up check out the EA Help website. Let me know how that goes once you have a chance. Thanks!

I ran a clean boot on my computer, and it unfortunately didn’t fix the problem. It could possibly be a problem with origin, but I don’t see this problem with other games in my origin library.

It is strange that it would only be affecting Apex Legends if it was an Origin issue. That said, it might be worth clearing out the Origin cache to see if that helps. If there's something wrong with the client's cached data that might help fix this.
For more info on how to clear the cache check out the EA Help website. Let me know how that goes once you've had a chance to give it a shot.

I just cleared the Origin cache, and there was no change to the issue.

Im sorry to tell you that's the only way to fix it - 6 years ago
Not really interested in resetting my computer. The game is at least functional, so I will just wait until it goes over to steam in the fall to see if the problem will appear there.
