I recently bought a Scarlett 2i2 sound card so I could record using audio using an XLR mic. The mic works in windows 10, also works fine in discord and all other apps but doesn't work in both Origin and Apex even though it does detect the sound card.I've tried all the options already mentioned online:- checking windows microphone privacy settings- closing discord before starting the game- repairing the game- setting the default input to the sound card in the sound manager- setting the input device in OriginNone of these solutions work. The game just doesn't want to recognize my input :SHow can I fix this?

I built a completely new PC this week and the issue still persists. How can this be possible?

Anyone have an update on this? I also just got an Scarlett 2i2 and now apex wont see any of my mics... wth??

@BennSauna Hi, if you do the mic test in Origin is it detected there? As a bit of a workaround can you try restarting your system then disabling other sound devices as a test, then check Origin/the game again?

Testing the mic in Origin doesn't show any signal, even though the sound card is recognized in Origin. I disabled other devices and restarted but same issue still persists.

Ok, so I now changed back to my headset's microphone for the time being, but that one is also not detected anymore even though I've set it as the default input device for apex. So now I can't communicate at all with someone in-game.

Thanks for the update. If you try clearing your Origin cache and try restarting again, does anything change?

I reinstalled origin completely but even that didn’t fix it 😕

I also disabled app exclusivity for the mic, but still doesn’t solve the issue

The Origin install doesn't clear the local cache, so it's definitely worth doing that as well as the reinstall.

I'm curious what your Recording Devices section in Windows looks like. You'll find this by right-clicking the volume icon in your system tray and clicking this option.

In recording devices I set the main input device to be the Scarlett 2i2 USB (my external sound card) and I also manually changed it to this setting for Origin and Apex.

For some reason, Nvidia shadowplay also can't pick up any input from the mic in-game.

I'd start posting screenshots of your current configuration :
-Origin Audio Settings
-Apex audio
