A few days ago there was a small updated, and my game stopped working. I was getting the "Your Windows 7 system is too outdated. Please install KB4534310." error. The next day the game started working again without me doing anything.
Yesterday I downloaded another update and game stopped working again with the same error. For some reason I am unable to install this particular windows updated - it gives me an error.
So in this case it sounds like you'll need to get the system updated in order for Apex to run going forward.
We're not experts in Windows Security updates, but what error do you get when you try to accept that update? You may want to try running the System File Checker for issues leading to the update being blocked.

I have all the prerequisites installed, and I am getting error 0x80073712

That indicates that a prerequisite file is missing or damaged, thus preventing the update. There are other tools like DISM, but can I check if the SFC found an issue?- 3 years ago
SFC did find an issue, attaching a log.

I received same error, it's something to do with the steam client doing a random update. Sometimes I can play and sometimes I can't, uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and worked fine for a day and same error again when steam did its little update. Followed the instructions on the System File Checker and "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." but I'm not going to uninstall and then reinstall Apex Legends every time I want to play it.

Why EA does nothing. I haven't played apex for 3 days. I'm thinking of uninstalling permanently
