There it is
Please update your Windows 10 build to the latest version and I see some Xbox gamer Bar errors. Try disabling that and play the game after you have the latest Windows 10 build.

I've updated Windows 10 to the latest build 1903 and removed Xbox gamer bar services from this laptop, but the first game I tried playing my game froze at the moment when there is a countdown before the champion selection. Also I've noticed that whenever Apex freezes it's disk usage goes to like 50 Mb/s in task manager and just stays this high value even though the game is frozen and not responding

Do you have Origin and Apex both installed on the same drive? I would double-check to see if Origin is installed on multiple drives by accident, I've seen that lead to performance issues before.
If you have it installed on one drive, try going to another drive and unplug the other external drives to see if that has any relation to why it's freezing. Strange the disk usage peaks, but we might be on the right path here!- 6 years ago
Well, I had Origin and the game installed on the same drive. After trying to put Apex on a different drive, immediately my game froze and the same behavior for the hard drive resulted. Thanks. Also, I've noticed that there is much less chance for freeze if I Alt+Tab to desktop and wait until my character is in a dropship, but its not ideal

Hey @EA_Blueberry this is not a system issue. It only started happening after the latest duo update. Please let the devs know. Its impossible to play 2 straight games without facing this issue.
