Game freezes after new mid-season update (Lobby)

After the new mid-season update, the game freezes after 20 seconds in lobby. Can be in lobby, shop, anywhere in the game. It freezes without any possible interaction, no sound, no movement, nothing. If we quickly try to ready up, I don't get matched in ranked. Task manager does not say the app is not responding. I have GTX 1050TI and 16gb ram, only started after this last update. I've stumbled upon a possible solution - to quickly switch to fullscreen / borderless / windowed, nothing worked. Tried verifying game files, everything was verified okay. The problem is supposedly some new lobby "animation" that freezes the game.

It happens to me too. You might be right about that animation since my friend who has a much better pc than me says when he readies up the game goes to almost 0 fps. Since I have a worse specs my game just freezes completely or just closes without any warning or error code
