Game freezes after new mid-season update (Lobby)

After the new mid-season update, the game freezes after 20 seconds in lobby. Can be in lobby, shop, anywhere in the game. It freezes without any possible interaction, no sound, no movement, nothing. ...

*Possible Fix***

As soon as you enter the game go into your video settings and use these options.

Sun Shadow Detail - > High
Sun Shadow Coverage - > High
Spot Shadow Detail - > High
Dynamic Spot Shadows - > Enabled.

Dynamic spot shadows being enabled seems to be the most important one*, change that first and see if the issues resolves.*

    @xxCROCOP88xxThis worked for me, but I had to do all of them, not just the last one, and I had to restart once.

    Before my shader recompile only went back to about 5.5k, but after this setting change it went back a little further, like 5.2k. I wonder if this forces a recompile over a now-incompatible shader?

    edit: no I think its not a recompile thing, switching the settings back returns the freezing behavior

      So following a possible fix proposed by a reddit user, I deleted the "local" folder here: C:\Users\YourUsername\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex 

      I was able to play a few games after that, but after game 4 or 5 my game froze again like 2 seconds after going back to the main menu (funnily enough, in ranked games the in-game reque feature doesn't work either, so I have to go back to the main menu after each game). So.much.fun.

      And again @EA/Respawn: why is there no communication about this issue? You NEED somebody who actively engages with YOUR community. This is absolutely unaccaptable - take 60k out of your billions and pay a professional.

    As the OP of this technical problem, this has worked for me, but ONLY if all of the settings have been turned ON or HIGH, the moment I switch back or de-grade them, game freezes. This is still a serious error in Apex, and it's quite shocking that no matter if this post / request is very hot and important, the support ticket is still open, and the hotfix (which is not much work to be honest - if some of us know and others suspect what the problem is). I won't close this topic, or accept this reply "as an answer" so the topic can stay hot and so devs can be alerted, and since it has worked for me but apparently not for everyone, the problem persists. I'll copy paste the solution that has (TEMPORARILY - RESPAWN THIS DOES NOT MEAN IT IS FIXED) worked for me so others can try this! Thanks to the owner of the possible solution for your time and help!

      @Photograph_EA will this also resolve my fps dropping by 20 everytime before update i was at a stable 120 no matter what but now it goes to 100 from 120 and back
