Why is this still not fixed a year later? I have been “friends” with most of my friends on Xbox for years, have played Apex with them, and they are still not appearing as being able to gift.
There are gamers that I may have played with one night with and they are showing on my list. My two brothers are appearing but nobody else does. Is this an EA account thing, because that’s lame. It also states nothing about the recipient needing to be EA Verified, only the gifter. So what gives? I meet all the criteria and am still denied.

“Receive gifts in Apex Legends

Also, how am I supposed to send friend requests to people I’m already friends with in-game but not on EA? How the hell are you supposed to find friends when there’s no “friends” tab on the site? Only available on the PC app? Why is there no phone app yet? What a flawed system.
“Can’t find friend in list
Your friend may need to accept your friend request in-game. Once they do, you can send them gifts once you’ve been friends in-game for at least two weeks.
If you’re playing on PlayStation, Xbox, or Steam, you need to make sure you are friends in-game, not just on the platform.”
Apex is now in its 20th season, you’ve had plenty of time to work this out! We shouldn’t have to defriend friends just to MAYBE fix the problem. This is an issue, not an ish-me. Get it sorted.
