Hacker linked to my epic account and not me
- 7 months ago
@9AraseK9 Well, since the account that got hacked was an Epic Games account, you would need to contact Epic Game's support team to recover your Epic Games account, or follow the steps listed here on Epic Game's support page.
However, there is another problem after regaining control of your Epic Games account, and that's the fact that it would still be linked to the EA Account not under your control.
On EA Help, (about how to link to an Epic Games account), it mentions you would need to unlink the Epic Games account from the first EA Account before you could link it to another EA Account.
"You can unlink your Epic Games account from your EA Account to link it to a different EA Account".From my understanding, the Epic Games account won't be able to be used to link to another EA Account until the first connection is unlinked.
I believe in this case, you would be able to contact EA Support. However, I'm not sure if they would be able to unlink the Epic Games account from another person's account, as the only way to unlink an Epic Games account from an EA Account, would be to log into the EA Account the Epic Games account is linked to, and unlink it from there.
Looking at both my EA Account and my Epic Games account, I only see the unlink option on my EA Account.
More information about unlinking an Epic Games account from an EA Account can be found here.
