Having tons of ping spikes at the beginning of the game recently

As the title says, I came back to the game a couple of weeks ago so I could finish my battle pass and I had to download an update/patch, so that's to be expected.

But now ever since then, my ping has been spiking up to 100-300 ms at the beginning of the game in battle royale mode and I can't figure out why. I play valorant and league of legends fine as usual but whenever I get on Apex, I have to play like 2-3 games for my internet or pc to get used to it because eventually, it goes back down to a comfortable 20-30 ms.

The weird thing is when I play arenas I get a ping of 14ms and maybe that's to be expected since there are obviously fewer players in the game there.

I'm using an ethernet cable of course so my internet is usually never the problem so at first, I thought it was my fps dropping like crazy or programs in the background running but it wasn't. So I went ahead and restarted my router, even changed the DNS settings to see a difference (no difference), changed it back, switched servers, deleted the "EasyAntiCheat" in the game folder, repaired the game, and lastly uninstalled and reinstalled the game. So yeah I'm pretty lost on what to do now. I wanted to add a video to this post as an example but it didn't let me.

  • I have been facing the same problem, I posted here my issue, and I have seen multiple players having the same problems but we got no answers. For me, I can't even play arenas, since season 9 APEX became unplayable. I  really hope they fix it in the season 10. STOP adding legends when we can't even play the freaking game. Streamers are not the only players...
