High VRAM usage causes lag! Help!

I've encountered this issue ever since i downloaded the game 12/22/2019

Whenever i play my VRAM usage goes up over time.

The usage gets high enough to that it surpasses my graphics cards actual virtual memory thats available, which then causes fps drops and stutters.

I've set the settings to lowest and checked drivers and they are up to date.

I can't play for extended amount of time and this is really frustating me.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

    Hey @BigCompleto

When you have a chance can you try setting up your PC in a Clean Boot to see if that helps at all? If there's anything else running on your PC that could be causing the VRAM to top out like that it may help us bypass it.

For more info on how you can set up a Clean Boot check out the EA Help website. Let me know if that helps at all.

That's definitely strange. I don't think I've run into this issue myself after playing for extended periods of time. I wonder if the issue is something within the game installation itself that could be causing this. It may sound odd, but can you try repairing the game in Origin to see if that makes any difference at all? If something in the game installation is corrupted that may help fix this.

If you right-click on Apex Legends in your Origin Library you should see a Repair option in the menu that pops up.

  • I've reinstalled the game several times and that does'nt seem to do anything.

Although i've noticed that by putting stream budget to none actually seems to be capping the vram usage to around 2000MB.

So i guess im going to be playing on that if i can't find other fixes.

This all seems really weird since my graphics card has 8gb of vram.

    Thanks for your help anyways.
