Thanks YoshiDaDragon, that seems to have provided the answer.

At the time of YoshiDaDragon replying the information on the link provided explains that there will be cross platform available but not cross progress, so progress for each platform stays on each platform. This is a bit of a shame as myself and I am sure other gamers would use both platforms, but this decision I am sure has many reasons behind it.

    @CaveCaverson maybe some gamers like me don't have a high-end PC to play this game and want to link it to their console using the same progress and stats.I hope respawn and EA both figure some solution for this out
