Huge FPS drop in game

Around mid October I started getting terrible frames in Apex (like 4 fps). I figured my R9 290X card had lived a long enough life so I figured I'd upgrade since I'd been having issues in other games ...

    Thank you! I appreciate it. 

    There are a few things I'd like to try to see if we can help figure out how to fix the FPS dips. 

    First, have you tried starting up your PC in a Clean Boot to see if that makes any difference? That way we can exclude anything else that's running which could be connected to the FPS drops. You can find more details on how to set one up over at the EA Help website. 

    Once you've had the chance to give that a shot please let me know how it goes. Thanks again.

I tried the clean boot and it ran smooth and crisp at 144fps. I narrowed the issue down to a security program I use to remotely log in for work. Thank you! 🙂

      I am also having fps drops and instability, i tried with a clean boot but nothing, all the drivers are up to date, temps are normal (between 40 and 60 both cpu and gpu), sometimes the cpu usage spikes to 83-84 with fps lag but temp is normal, settings all low, nvidia control panel settings are all set to high performance and tweaked windows too. What should i do?
