Hi there,I get huge frame drops in some areas like from 130+fps to 40fps. In the plane depending where I look at 22-30 fps. System:i7 4700mqgtx 780m 4gb16gb ramwin10 I already tried several videoconfig settings like r_lod_switch_scale to 0.3, yes on read-only. Is there something special I missed? resolution down to 800 x 450 (all ingame setting on lowest of course) undervoltage cpu -100mv with throttlestop fan to 100%, temps are all under 80°C Any idea how I can get constant 60fps with this system? Thanks

Hello there.40 to 130 fps is not normal. You should get constant 60fps with this system. I have got GTX 660m and i5-3230m, which is way worse than yours, and get 35-60 fps(Resolution: 1280x720).You said your video settings are at the lowest, is Anti-aliasing on? It should be on TSAA and set Adaptive Resolution FPS Target to 60. Also disable Adaptive Supersampling.

25fps in the dropship is pretty normal, for your system of course. You can reduce distance scaling through config as you do but it might not improve your performance that much.What are your CPU&GPU usages?

@NervousAndPotato With a gpu like that hes better off having low texture budget for more fps.Increasing the streaming budget eats fps and messes with the framepacing of the game when looking around

I think setting it under VRAM limit will not cause any drops. Texture streaming budget saves textures in VRAM in order to reduce possible buffers. But some say keeping it at 2GB gives the best FPS. I can't go over 2GB so I can't give you my personal experience, just giving info within my knowledge. He will get no harm from trying. You may be right though. 🙂

Okay I mean I have 4gb perhaps I set it to 2gb and give it a try.

40 to 130 fps is not normal. You should get constant 60fps with this system. I have got GTX 660m and i5-3230m, which is way worse than yours, and get 35-60 fps(Resolution: 1280x720).

I already tried all kind of Adaptive Resolution FPS Targets, TSAA on/off. Adaptive Supersampling.always disabled.

I think the reason is something with distance scaling / quality therefore only 20-25fps in the plane in the beginning. Most times it drops when I look at in the wide open. The question is how I can reduce the scaling /distance quality or range.

Do you know the name in the videoconfig for distance scaling? Didn`t find it.
CPU never reaches 100%, GPU indeed reaches 98-99% when the huge drops happen but also if drops weren`t that huge.

Should be "setting.r_lod_switch_scale" but I'm not sure. Have you tried to optimize through Nvidia Control Panel?

No, I treid this with different values 0 - 0.6
Recently I noticed that I have a really deep and sharp view from the plane as if the game zoomed out and with pretty good details. Even with a custom resolution of 960x540.

Also my gpu only uses about 1250mb from my 4gb memory.
