Hi. I've been playing Apex Legends for a few months and everything going well until the recent 2 updates. My game keeps getting huge lag spikes and then it freezes sometime after the lag spikes. The weird part is that I don't see any significant FPS drop from the game performance info ( it does sometimes but mostly not ). it lags so hard that I can't even play the game. it feels like 30 Fps even though my fps is always from 110-120. There is no overheating on any part of my pc but I did find out whenever my lag spikes come in. My GPU would be dropped to around 20-40% usage and it only lag spikes mid-game. Both of my CPU GPU would be around 60-80% usage when it is running smoothly.I've been trying every method from the internet like changing all kinds of in-game video settings / capping my max fps to my monitor refresh rate / changing Nvidia control panel setting / shut down window game mode / updating all CPU GPU drivers etc... nothing really seems to work.it really upset me. I really hope that someone can help me ☹️ Please let me know if there is any way to fix this.I am willing to try anything!Anyways. I had a similiar problem and i think i fixed it. My texture streaming budget was set to 2 gb. The textures near by were loading slowly and the textures changed the resolution from low to high all the time. This was followed by lower FPS, stuttering and less cpu & gpu load. When i set the streaming budget to "none" the problem was fixed. Normal CPU & GPU load again, stable FPS. Maybe it´s an individual problem of mine but this is new tho. Seems like Apex messed up some CPU related programming this season.

I'd recommend starting off with the basic connectivity steps from the EA Help website first. If it keeps happening after that check out the PC-specific steps as well. We've been looking into the performance issues that some people have been seeing since the 9.1 update. I've also heard some cases where lowering your mouse DPI can help with stuttering, so that may also be worth a shot.

It also sounds like this could be connection-related. If the ping is spiking it could be causing the game to hitch up. Can we try running through some other troubleshooting to see if we can help stop it from happening?

I'd recommend starting off with the basic connectivity steps from the EA Help website first. If it keeps happening after that check out the PC-specific steps as well. Let me know how that goes once you've had the chance to give it a shot. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your time. I got a little depressed and haven't played Apex for weeks after this issue came out

just a little head up. This issue only happens mid-game through and usually the first few games are totally fine and smooth.
I've checked my pc and I'm sure there is no over-hearting problem.

3 weeks ago when I first post'd this.
CPU GPU usage : 30% in game

Now :
CPU GPU usage : 60-70% in game

seems like the "usage issue" has been fixed from the last patch.
other than that. the lag spike issue still remain ☹️

Do you play Apex Legends with no framerate cap? If so, can you try removing the uncap command to test and see if that makes any difference? If you're able to give it a try please let me know how it goes. Thanks again!

@ToxicIndustrials I've this problem, and my only FIX is NONE Texture Streaming Budget! When I change to 2gb+ my Ping(MS) spikes and the game starts to freeze and lag.
