i can't play 4:3 resolution on full screen

why i can't play 4:3 on full screen, does +mat_letterbox_aspect_goal 1.33 +mat_letterbox_aspect_threshold 1.33 not work any more?

This post is in regards to the recent changes that effectively disabled the 4:3/5:4 stretched full screen settings in Apex (eg. 1280x1960 and 1440x1080 are still usable but have black bars with reduces the screen fill)

I have played fps since 1996 and I have always used 4:3 and or stretched resolutions. I could go into depth on justifications of why I like to use these resolutions but frankly I will not and should not have to.

To remove this feature is infuriating to me.

I could speculate why this has been done but it would not be accurate as I truly do not know. I have read some replies from posts on this forum but it does not feel like a clear or honest of a response. My guess is that at the heart of the decision is the desire to balance and make the gamer fairer. I commend that such action as with any game that you let humans play, we evolve and exploit the game through meta and progression and reveal its flaws through competitive nature. Sometimes bugs/exploits are revealed in this process and the author editor can step in to adjust/balance to make it more desirable for the majority.

A small part of me believes this may be a shadier ordeal, that in which they wish to force out such old school resolutions and settings out of convenience/resource. They say it was in relation to configging but its * I don't believe it, to make a fantastic game such as this and achieve the amazing things that this game is then to go silent on the whole stretched full screen issue is obvious that it's a reason they probably can't justify.

My request to Respawn is please put the stretched full screen resolution back in the game so I can continue playing your fantastic and amazing game!, and also if on the off chance there is that person on the team whose bright idea it was to remove this or disrupt the stretched rezzers, please tell that person to eat a bag of * from me!

it was fun while it lasted, its a * dead game now hahaha, after season 2 it went downhill, no one gives a * about it anymore, all those apex pros on twitch dissapeared ahahahhahahahahah and good that this happened, respawn aint different from whole ea, trash moneygrabbing games

    This is my first ever reply in this forum and this is one god damn simple thing to fix and we don't get it. I don't understand how hard is to add option to choose whatever resolution or aspect ratio you want. Pc gamers, most of them don't have good pc-s and they always choose lower resolution and so on. Almost every solid fps game have this option and Respawn can't add this??? If you think anyone gets somekind of advantage over this beside mby better fps and they play with stretched resolution in other games, then it's god damn stupid. Game is full of cheaters and controller players with aimassist, that is an f''''n advantage. There is 18 pages under this topic and they still can't add one simple option. This is how they listen to the community? Sorry for my bad english.
