in game chat, one friend muted always xbox series x

HI, a friend of mine is always on mute for the in-game chat in Apex, its fone for all other games but not Apex, the voice mute symbol is unmuted but i can't hear him ever, have tried all the troubleshooting methods and had no success, any ideas?
