I play on Ps4 in eastern USA and I’ve been having issues with my ping in apex for such a long time it’s wild. my ping used to be in the 40-50s but now it starts off in the 40s and then jumps to the 200-300ms range and stays there as soon as the game starts. how do I fix it? Please the game is unplayable I can’t even see people that I’m fighting at some points it’s weird though because I never get disconnected it’s just really bad lag

Yeah but it kinda fixed itself so I don’t really have a solution :/ so far no issues with season 10 except for audio bugs

There are some troubleshooting steps I'd like to try to see if we can help with the ping issues you've been seeing. First I'd recommend starting off with the basic connectivity steps from the EA Help website.

@EA_Kent I’ve done all that and it still doesn’t work. Looks like it’s just the servers.

I can get like 1-2 nice games in and then on the third game my ping starts to spike to 300-400ms and even after restarting/turning off ps4 and disconnecting internet it doesn’t help.

Have you tested this with any of the other US datacenters? Does the ping still fluctuate no matter which one you're connected to?

@EA_KentI’m not sure what you mean by changing the data center.

I have changed the server I play on few times on Apex but it doesn’t help much, the connection says it’s stable but and that there’s 0 packet loss but I just lag anyway on my screen.

I was playing with my bf (he plays on Xbox) and on his screen I’ll be running smoothly but on my screen, my character will be skipping around and my ping will be fluctuating from 40ms to 800ms.
I also want to point out that I don’t ever get kicked from games no matter how badly it lags and I don’t get the red server symbols either so I don’t know what it is.

When you're on the title screen for Apex Legends you should see an option to change datacenters there. Have you tried connecting to any others to see if you're still having these same issues?

Yes I have, all of them say between 27-60ms and 0 packet loss. I get in game and I’m having 200-400 ping and 0 packet loss

@iCroN00b Does your lobby background also lag? Like the banners that are hanging in the background behind your character. Or any movement in the background cause it’s been happening to mine since the beginning of the season. :/

Thanks for giving it a shot.

Have you had a chance to try changing the DNS on your PS4 to see if that makes any difference at all? I've seen some cases where using a different DNS can help with issues like this. To change the DNS settings on your PS4 follow the steps below:

1. Open your PS4 Settings and go to Network

2. Select Set Up Internet Connection

3. Choose WiFi or LAN Cable depending on what type of connection you're using

4. Select IP Address Settings (automatic)

5. Select DHCP Host Name (Do Not Use)

6. Select DNS Settings (Manual)

7. Enter 8.8.8.8 as the Primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 as the Secondary DNS. This is the public Google DNS, but if there's a different DNS you would rather use instead that's OK as well

8. Select MTU Settings (Automatic)

9. Select Proxy Server (Do Not Use)

10. Choose Test Internet Connection to confirm the changes

Yeah it didn’t do anything. Looks like the PS4 servers are just trash. But what’s new.
It’s honestly a shame that I wasted my money on this game just to not be able to connect because of server issues.

Anyway thank you for trying to help Kent! But I’m done trying to fix a problem that isn’t solvable.
Pass a message along to your high ups though and tell them to fix their crappy servers for apex. Thanks and enjoy the rest of your day.
